Many of these are fixed route fares set by postcode district, so the price is the same whenever you travel. Where no fixed fare is set, the booking system calculates the price from the actual driving distance and time for your trip, and shows you the breakdown before you confirm. Taxi to Heathrow: Which Terminal?

Heathrow has four passenger terminals. Terminals 2 and 3 share the central area reached through the main tunnel, Terminal 4 is on the south side of the airfield and Terminal 5 is at the western edge, reached from the M25 at junction 14. They are far enough apart that the wrong drop-off costs real time, so choose the right terminal when you book. Your airline confirmation tells you which one you need.

The prices above are to Terminal 5. Fares to Terminals 2, 3 and 4 are similar; the booking form shows the exact price for your terminal. From central London, allow about 45 minutes to an hour outside rush hour along the A4 and M4. Aim to arrive two hours before a short-haul flight and three before long-haul, unless your airline says otherwise.

Arriving at Heathrow: Your Pickup

Heathrow Taxi, Heathrow Express or the Tube?

The Heathrow Express to Paddington, the Elizabeth line and the Piccadilly line all serve the airport. For one person with a small case going to a station, rail is quick and often cheaper. A taxi to Heathrow wins when you are travelling with family or a group, carrying long-haul luggage, flying very early or late, or starting from somewhere the trains don’t reach directly.
