Getting to East Midlands Airport
East Midlands Airport is at Castle Donington in north-west Leicestershire, close to junctions 23A and 24 of the M1. It sits roughly between Nottingham, Derby and Leicester, which makes it the local airport for all three cities. It has one passenger terminal.
Aim to arrive about two hours before a short-haul flight unless your airline says otherwise. Most flights are holiday and European routes, many leaving early.
Arriving at East Midlands: Your Pickup
Add your flight number when you book. We track the flight and you get one hour of free waiting from the time it actually lands, so a delay in the air or a slow passport queue doesn’t cost you anything extra. Your driver’s details and contact number come with your booking confirmation.
East Midlands Airport Taxi or Bus?
There is no railway station at the terminal; East Midlands Parkway is a short bus or taxi ride away, and buses run to the nearby cities. For families, groups and early flights, a door-to-door taxi is usually simpler.
