A taxi from Heathrow to Croydon costs £99 in a saloon, the same from every terminal. It is a fixed price that includes the airport parking and drop-off fee.
Heathrow is on the far side of London from Croydon, and there is no simple way across by public transport. That is the main reason people book this route: they have landed after a long flight and do not want two or three changes with luggage.

Fares from Terminal 5 to East Croydon station, from our booking system in October 2026. Cars and minivans cost the same from Terminals 2, 3 and 4; the 12- and 16-seat minibuses are £322 and £380 from Terminal 3. Addresses in Purley, Thornton Heath, South Norwood, Addiscombe, Sanderstead or Coulsdon can be priced exactly in the booking form.
What the alternative looks like
By rail you would head into central London on the Elizabeth line or the Piccadilly line and change at least once to reach East Croydon. That is manageable with a small bag in the daytime. It is a different journey at 11pm with two suitcases and tired children.
The car makes the most sense when:
- You are a family or group. Four people in an estate pay £28 each; six in a people carrier pay about £22 each.
- You land late. The fare is the same at midnight, and our driver is following your flight.
- You live away from the station. The car takes you to the door rather than to East Croydon.
Choosing the vehicle
Many Heathrow arrivals are long-haul passengers with heavy luggage. The saloon takes three suitcases; four people with a case each need the estate (£112). The people carrier (6 seats, 5 cases) is £130, and the 8-seater (8 seats, 8 cases) is £144, only £14 more for three extra cases.
Meeting your driver at Heathrow
Taxis cannot pick up on Heathrow’s terminal forecourts. Your driver meets you inside the arrivals hall with a name board, which is included on our Heathrow transfers. We follow your flight number, and you get 60 minutes of free waiting from landing. If the flight is delayed by hours, our flight delays and waiting time page explains what happens.
You can check your flight on the official Heathrow arrivals board.
Which Heathrow terminal?
The fare is the same from all four terminals for cars and minivans. British Airways uses Terminal 5 for most flights. Terminal 3 handles Virgin Atlantic, Delta, American Airlines and Emirates. Your booking confirmation shows the terminal; tell us, so your driver waits in the right arrivals hall.
Going to Heathrow from Croydon
The outbound trip costs the same £99 in a saloon, and Heathrow’s £7 drop-off charge is already included. Your driver waits 10 minutes free at the door. The route depends on traffic and often uses the M25. It is unpredictable on weekday mornings and Friday afternoons, so leave a generous margin.
Gatwick may be closer
If you have a choice of airports, it is worth knowing that Gatwick is much closer to Croydon. Our Gatwick to Croydon fare is £69 in a saloon, against £99 from Heathrow.
