Hyde Park to Gatwick Taxi

The streets around Hyde Park hold a large share of London’s hotels, from Park Lane and Marble Arch to Bayswater and Lancaster Gate. Our Hyde Park to Gatwick taxi collects from your hotel or home anywhere around the park and takes you to the North or South Terminal for a fixed price, with no need to cross London by train.

You get a fixed price for the whole vehicle at the time of booking. Traffic, diversions and a delayed flight do not change it. Use the booking form at the top of this page for an instant quote, or call us if your plans are unusual.

The Hyde Park to Gatwick Journey

From the Hyde Park area the driver heads to Victoria or Vauxhall Bridge, crosses the river and follows the A23 south through Brixton and Streatham to join the M23 near Coulsdon. Early morning journeys can take less than an hour; weekday rush hours through south London can stretch it to an hour and a half, so we plan pickups accordingly.

Drivers plan the route against live traffic, so if there is a closure or a heavy queue they will take the alternative without you having to ask. For a flight, we work back from your departure time and build in a buffer for check-in and bag drop, so you are not watching the clock on the motorway.

  • Distance: about 29 miles
  • Typical journey time: 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Main roads: Park Lane, Vauxhall Bridge, A23 and M23
  • Airport: Gatwick Airport (North and South Terminals)

Why Book a Fixed-Price Hyde Park to Gatwick Taxi

Hotel guests heading home after a London visit usually have more luggage than when they arrived. A direct car from the hotel door removes the Tube ride to Victoria and the platform scramble for the Gatwick Express. It is also the easiest option for families, and for groups of three or more it is often similar in cost to rail.

  • Fixed fare: agreed at booking, for the whole vehicle.
  • Flight tracking: if your plans change, tell us and we move the pickup.
  • Free waiting time: a short free wait at your pickup address.
  • Licensed drivers: private hire licensed, DBS checked and experienced on airport runs.
  • Door to door: no changes, no lifting cases on and off trains.

Drop-Off at Gatwick Airport

We drop at the departures forecourt of the North or South Terminal. Check your airline’s terminal before you travel, because the two buildings are linked by a free shuttle, not a short walk. If you are running late on the day, call us and the driver will adjust the drop-off to the closest door for your airline.

For terminal information, parking and live flight updates, see the official Gatwick Airport website. For everything we offer at this airport, see our main Gatwick Airport taxi page.

Vehicle Options

The right vehicle depends on bags as well as people. If you are unsure, tell us what you are carrying and we will suggest the right size.

Saloon

Up to 3 passengers with 2 large cases and 2 cabin bags. A comfortable, economical choice for couples and solo travellers.

Estate

Up to 3 passengers with 3 large cases. Useful when you have more luggage than a saloon boot takes.

Executive

A premium saloon for up to 3 passengers, popular for business travel and special occasions.

People Carrier

Up to 5 or 6 passengers with luggage, ideal for families and small groups.

8-Seater Minivan and Minibus

For larger groups of up to 8 passengers, with bigger minibuses available for 12 or 16. Luggage space depends on passenger numbers, so give us both when you book.

Typical Fares by Vehicle Class

Prices depend on the exact addresses, date and time, so the booking form gives the precise figure. As a guide to how the classes compare on this route:

Taxi vs Train vs Driving Yourself

The nearest link is the Gatwick Express or Southern from Victoria, about a 10 to 15 minute ride from most Hyde Park hotels. With the transfer to Victoria, the whole journey is usually around an hour and ten minutes. Thameslink services from Farringdon and St Pancras are an option for the north side of the park, but involve more walking.

Booking in Advance

Booking a few days ahead gives you the widest choice of vehicles, especially for people carriers and minibuses in school holidays. Short-notice bookings are often possible too, so it is worth checking even on the day. For an early morning flight, we can collect at any hour.

Tips for a Smooth Departure

  • Check your terminal: confirm it with your airline a day before, as airlines do move terminals.
  • Leave enough time: aim to reach the airport two hours before a short-haul flight and three hours before a long-haul one.
  • Have bags ready: if your cases are by the door when the driver arrives, you leave on time and use none of your waiting time.
  • Keep documents handy: passports and boarding passes in a cabin bag, not the boot.
  • Tell us about extras: child seats, a wheelchair that folds, sports equipment or an extra stop on the way.

Pickup Areas Around Hyde Park

We collect from hotels on Park Lane, Marble Arch and Knightsbridge, from the many hotels in Bayswater, Lancaster Gate and Queensway, and from homes and apartments in Mayfair, Paddington and Kensington. Hotels usually have a pickup point, so we meet you in the lobby or at the entrance.

We cover Park Lane, Marble Arch, Bayswater, Lancaster Gate, Queensway, Paddington, Mayfair, Knightsbridge, and anywhere nearby. If your address is outside these areas, the booking form will still quote it.

Accessibility and Special Requests

We are happy to help passengers who need a little extra assistance. Mention a folding wheelchair, walking aid or any mobility needs when you book, and add child seats, sports equipment or extra stops in the same notes so the right vehicle turns up. Please note we do not currently operate wheelchair-accessible vehicles with ramps.

Business and Group Travel

Companies can open an account for monthly invoicing and itemised receipts. For groups and events, we can coordinate several vehicles to arrive together. See our corporate accounts page for details.
