Why Reigate is awkward by train
Reigate sits just west of Redhill, and the fast trains from Gatwick towards Reading call at Redhill but not regularly at Reigate. Many rail journeys from the airport therefore involve a change at Redhill, with luggage, for a stop a couple of minutes down the line. A car takes you straight to your door instead.
Late arrivals
A car is most useful on this route for evening and late-night arrivals, when trains are less frequent and nobody is free to drive to the airport. The fare is the same at midnight as at midday, and your driver is following your flight, so a delay does not leave you without a ride.

The fare is the same from both. British Airways, Ryanair, Wizz Air and Jet2 fly from the South Terminal, while Emirates, Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines are in the North. easyJet uses both, so check your booking. The free shuttle between terminals runs around the clock and takes two minutes.
Getting to the right door
Some Reigate homes are on private roads or up steep lanes towards Reigate Hill, Wray Common and the heath. If the satnav tends to send drivers the wrong way, or your entrance is round the back, put a short note in the booking: “second gate on the left” saves more time than anything else on a run this short.
